Georgia: National Platform holds a conference on reforms of European Integration

In the beggining of November the Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil  Society Forum organised a Conference Reforms for European Integration - Georgian National Platform".

Supported by the EU, the purpose of the Conference was to discuss in Trialogue format - the representatives of the Georgian Government, International Community and Civil Society, Policy Papers elaborated by the member organizations of the National Platform. The Trialogue format aimed to promote active engagement of the Georgian civil society in the ongoing reforms that is necessary pre-condition for the country’s European Integration.

Policy documents with relevant recommendations were developed in the frame of the EU Project “Empowering of the Georgian National Platform for Easter Partnership.” The recommendations were prepared in different directions: human rights, democracy, effective governance, economics, energy and environment, culture, conflicts. After the policy documents were presented, the discussion was held in the context of European Integration. 

Besides government and civil sectors, representatives of the international organizations were also invited to the conference. State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Aleksi Petriashvili, EU Mission in Georgia – Mr. Tobias Thyberg, head of Policy Department, Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Davit Narmania, First Deputy State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili were speakers at the conference.
