In her analysis of the role of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum's role in empowering civil society in Ukraine, Veronica Pulisova - PhD candidate from the Comenius University in Bratislava - observes a noticeable shift in the EU approach to civil society in its neighbourhood during the last years. Civil Society is now taken more seriously and its representatives regarded as important partners in reform processes and democratisation. Her article takes a closer look at the mutually empowering roles of the civil society and the EaP CSF, which helped to bring about this shift, by using Ukraine as an example.
