EaP CSF Panel Discussion on EU-Belarus relations: a new round of engagement in the new geopolitical situation?

On 14 October 2015 at 12h30, Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum will hold in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels the panel discussion on the future of EU-Belarus relations. 

MEP Bogdan Zdrojewski, Chair of the Delegation for relations with Belarus will open the discussion, which will take place after the presidential elections of 11 October 2015.

The panellists will deliberate on the fate of the EU sanctions on Belarus while seeking to answer the major question of whether new geopolitical realities dictate an improvement in relations despite the flawed electoral processes and continued violations of human rights.

Panellists will include:

  • Dirk Schübel, EEAS, Head of Division 'Eastern Partnership-bilateral' 
  • Andrei Yahorau, Center for European Transformation, Steering Committee of the EaP Civil Society Forum 
  • Anna Gerasimova, Director of the Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House 
  • Vladimir Dunaev PhD, Belarusian National Platform of the EaP CSF, Public Bologna Committee
