Letter from Chişinău by EaP CSF member Igor Boțan17 December 2015
Igor Boțan, the Executive Director of the EaP CSF member – the Association for Participatory Democracy ADEPT from Moldova, provided his assessment of the EU policies for the Republic of Moldova in the Capitals Series of Carnegie Europe's Strategic Europe run by Judy Dempsey. The series explores how EU foreign policy is viewed in six countries of the Eastern Partnership. The contributors from each capital are asked to give a candid evaluation of the EU policies towards their country, with a ranking on a scale from “miserable” to “excellent.” While giving a satisfactory mark to the EU foreign policy for Moldova Igor Boțan notes that in the last years, Moldova has gone from a success story in 2010 to a captured state in 2015. The fight against corruption should thus be the condition of any EU support for Moldova, he concludes. |
