Sincerest sympathies at the unexpected passing of Abgar Yeghoyan

Yerevan – Abgar Yeghoyan, President of the Protection of Consumers Rights NGO died on the 24th December 2010 at the age of 46 from complications related to surgery.

Mr Yeghoyan had brain surgery several days before his passing and fell into a comma, from which he did not recover.

He graduated from Yerevan National Institute of Economy in 1985 and went into a commercial career. An active citizen, he established the Protection of Consumers Rights Organisation in 1996.

He was just recently elected as a National Coordinator of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. He will be sorely missed from this forum as he had numerous bright ideas and was excited about the future.

Abgar has been described by his colleagues by the EaP Steering Committee as “a wonderful and kind man, a talented and inspiring leader, reliable partner and colleague. What he has left is his personal respective reputation, well known non-governmental organization, circle of friends and colleagues in Armenia and abroad. He will be missed.”

Our sympathies are with his family at this difficult time.
