Statement on the resumption meeting of the National Platform of the EaP Civil Society Forum in Armenia

The Steering Committee of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum expresses its recognition of the meeting of Armenian participants of the Civil Society Forum assemblies of Brussels (2009), Berlin (2010) and Poznan (2011) that took place in Yerevan on 21 November 2011 and the resumption of the Armenian National platform of the Civil Society Forum.

The resumption meeting, convened by the EaP Civil Society Forum country facilitator for Armenia, Mr Avetik Ishkhanyan, took place with the participation of representatives of 24 of the 36 eligible civil society organisations – participants of the EaP CSF assemblies - and adopted new Organisational Principles for the Armenian National Platform.

A member of the EaP CSF Steering Committee, co-Chair Ulad Vialichka, took part in the meeting as an observer, and confirmed that the quorum of at least two-thirds of the 36 organisations was met, confirming the validity of the meeting in line with the Statement on the situation of the National Platform of the EaP Civil Society Forum in Armenia, issued by the Steering Committee on 4 November 2011. The Steering committee therefore confirms the resumption of the EaP CSF National Platform in Armenia.
