Report of Working Group 1:Democracy, Human Rights, Good Governance and Stability, 4-5th October 2013

Two working group coordinators were elected at the Stockholm Civil Society Forum (Krzysztof Bobinski from Unia & Polska (Poland) and Tamar Chugoshvili from Georgian Young Lawyers Association (Georgia). After several months Ms.Chugoshvili went to work for the Georgian government and Anar Mammadli from the Election Monitoring and Democratic Studies Centre (Azerbaijan) was elected at the WG1 meeting in Brussels in an interim role.

The working group as a whole met in Brussels in May just before the Platform 1 meeting between EU and member state diplomats and EaP officials. The Platform meeting was attended by Boris Navasardian (Armenian National Platform coordinator and Media subgroup head) and Krzysztof Bobinski as well as Natalya Yerashevich, the head of our secretariat.

Experts of the Ukrainian National Platform point to flaws in anti-corruption policy

Working Group 1 "Democracy, human rights, good governance and stability" of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF welcomes political compromise enactment of the law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on implementation of the state anti-corruption policy". The adopted law is an important step towards European integration of Ukraine.

Statement of Working Group 1 on Azerbaijani law amendments

06 July 2012

The WG1 members, representing several organisations from both EaP and EU countries, support the statement of the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety calling on the Azerbaijani government to refrain from adopting draft amendments to the laws “On the right to obtain information”, “On commercial secrets” and “On state registration and state registry of legal entities”, which would create unreasonable obstacles for the access to data on the ownership of private companies.
